DesignConnect has been receiving some press this semester. Here are some of the items in the press about DesignConnect.
Cornell Chronicle: Students solve design dilemmas
Hannah Stamler at the Cornell Chronicle Online wrote a nice piece on DesignConnect as an organization. DesignConnect’s client for the Six Mile Creek project provided some nice words for the organization in addition to praise from students who have participated in DesignConnect.
The Cornell Daily Sun: Collegetown Residents React to Plans for Grocery Store
At the Cornell Daily Sun, Kevin Milian wrote a piece on the first community meeting lead by DesignConnect in relation to the Collegetown Grocery store project.
Syracuse.com: Cornell students help design a vision for ShoppingTown’s redevelopment
And last but certainly not least was a piece written by Elizabeth Doran at the Post-Standard in Syracuse. Doran wrote about DesignConnect’s involvement with the redevelopment of the ShoppingTown Mall in DeWitt. Doran provided a report on the public meeting DesignConnect recently hosted to present last semester’s findings to the community. Based on this information session, the DesignConnect team will create mock-ups of potential designs the ShoppingTown Mall can use to redevelop the site. The comment section on this article is particularly lively which shows the sort of impact DesignConnect’s work can have on a community.
